EMBRACING THE LIGHT

Darkness resides among the mist,
Seeking to pull me into it's abyss;
Shimmering lights broken through,
Calling me to a life anew.

No longer must I live a life of strife,
Such wondrous mystical changing tides of life;
A promise of new beginnings,
Beckoning me away from desperate endings.

How is it for me who lived so long in the dark,
To trust and embrace this new journey that seeming so afar;
Distant from the depth of despair and desolation?
Away from the familiarity of darkness and isolation?

Here an offering of redemption and salvation,
Arisen from the binds of self-damnation:
God has never abandoned thee,
Always it was I who destroyed and fled.

Now the arms of warmth and love surrounds,
Again is it I, who is afraid to turn around.
Somehow, the years of loneliness has taken its toll.
It is time I release my powerless control.
